| Well, prepare and bring a cheat sheet. They won't care. Look at it like this, you aren't just going there to be interviewed, you should also be interviewing them. Ask them questions, find out things you want to know about that place. Make it interesting for you. If you like meeting new people, think of it that way. You are meeting someone knew, ask them about their job as well. You end up learning more about industries and jobs to say the least. Being personable is the best and easiest way to be. A heck of a lot easier than trying to be something you are not or putting up a front just to get a job. I also find that if you treat them like a peer, you are on the same level, it's easier that way. And sometimes, the best practice is to just get a ton of interviews. Talk about yourself, learn new words each day, increase your vocabulary. Job shadowing helps too, and observe how other people talk, storytellers, salespeople, and learn the tricks. No one gets to be a great speaker over night, as long as you are working at it, you'll get a little better each day, even if you don't notice it. Hope that helps. |
