Politicians and the hotel industry accused the management of sexism and "inappropriate" behaviour.

"In this day and age, in 2008, to be promoting the drinking of alcohol along those lines, I just think is part of a bygone era," said Victoria state's acting Premier Rob Hulls.

Semi-nude photos technically broke a contracted rule, but that was not the reason for wanting Miss California fired. Hilton himself claims Prejean was ahead of every contestant in the pageant until she gave him her no to gay marriage answer. Miss Rhode Island would have been facing the same punishment had she given a no gay marriage answer. The entire maneuver is about liberal political correctness with an agenda to destroy traditional American values. The strong-arming strategy has entered beauty pageants. Women are not allowed to think for themselves, they must give scripted answers. Carrie Prejean knew she was expected to follow the rules of robotic rhetoric when answering. She chose to be honest and speak from the heart. Miss California’s answer angered Perez Hilton and gay activists across America who made Prejean out to be Hitler in a tiara. It was liberals who acted like Nazi’s. They went after Prejean with venom, trying to destroy her life. For one month liberals and gay activists have shown intolerance toward a fellow free-thinking American. Hmmm......that was a lot to digest, but here are my thoughts:
1.) As the owner of the pageant system, Donald Trump had a responsibility to pre-screen the questions. In doing so, he may have avoided this politically charged outrage. Let's be honest, that question should have never been asked.
2.) We can sidestep and tiptoe around the whole question and answer session all we'd like, but in actuality, Carrie Prejean lost the crown because she answered the question honestly, and exercised her first Amendment rights.
3.) Had one of the judges been Rich Warren, and Carrie answered the question in support of gay marriage, she would have faced a very similar punishment.
4.) The behavior of the judges and pageant staff following this incident was outrageous. Perez Hilton called Carrie Prejean a b-word, and more or less "gets on the bitter bus," showing no remorse for his decision. Shannon Moakler and friend disclose that Carrie has had breat implants.
5.) Now....onto the photo issue. I don't agree with the article saying that the photo issue was pursued soley based on Carrie's answer. Not True. Look at all the beauty queens who have been called into question: Tara Connors was called into question (and given a second chance) after alleged drug and alcohol usage. Miss Rhode Island was given a second chance after she posed for Maxim. Miss Nevada was decrowned after her photos surfaced, because, according to Donald Trump, they fell into the category of racy.
6.) I think Carrie Prejean is a role model in the sense that she spoke her mind, regardless of what it cost. That's a huge lesson to not only young girls, but to all Americans. That said, I don't feel the recently surfaced photos are a sign of a good role model. I'm glad she kept her crown regardless.
7.) Last, but not least, I feel Perez Hilton, Shannon Moakler, and accompanying friend owe an apology. Not for taking a stance in support of gay marriage, but for reacting so poorly to someone who doesn't agree with their beliefs!
