What is the best way to get my daughter bowel-potty-trained?
We are at a loss as to what to do with her! She is 100% pee trained night and day. But she refuses to poop in the toilet! We are getting SO sick of washing poopy panties!! Any tips would be SO helpful! We've tried potty treats (bucket of jelly beans). Thanks!!
Be prepared to send her off to college in Depends adult diapers!
Got potty training tips anyone?
My 3 year old will not go to the potty on her own. She will go when we tell her to but does not go on her own. She will pee her pants before she willingly goes. Any tips?
Also she will not poop on the potty. How can I get her to do it? I am so tired of washing poopy panties.
Here are some suggestions on what to do:

make a calendar for her and have her put up a sticker every time she makes. let her pick out the stickers. when she gets a certain amount of stickers she gets a present ex. doll

make it very exciting! every time she does in fact go make it a big deal, she will be so happy and filled with pride and it will encourage her to go again another time.

when you go to the bathroom, let her come in and watch. make it seem...fun. she looks up to her mommy, doesn't she? if mommy can do it, she can do it is what will be going through her mind.

buy this dvd for her:

a short dvd about ten minutes long with a song, then a little story, then the same song but it will get her really psyched!

also, any potty dvd will get your daughter excited:

show her this youtube video! Pull-Ups Potty Dance...lol!
www.youtube.com/watch?v=DacxAfN_T…

before she gets poopy trained, let her get comfortable just sitting on the potty. Go into the bathroom with her with books to read and fun things to do and let her sit on the potty. Try to make her forget she is even there. Then maybe the next time she will want to try it, on her own thinking.

But, take it from a pro and buy a book. Not only the guide books for parents but the picture books for guys.

3 year old daughter having problems with potty?
I have a 3 year old daughter and she is awesome we have no problems with her except for one. When she has to poop she runs and grabs ahold of a chair or crosses her legs while standing and just won't do it. I ask her why and she says it hurts and she also has little streaks and some poopy in her panties. I am calling a doctor tomorrow to get them to check her out and find out what is going on. I am worried about her because lately we have been trying to potty train and it is going great except for the poopy part, Has anyone ever had this problem and maybe do you know what might be going on with her. She has always had a problem with it and when she used to go to her old doctor they would say she would grow out of it. Now its a big problem because it is hurting her and she is afraid to do it. Thanks
Both my boys have trouble with constipation. Fiber is what the dr suggested to me and to make it something she will eat like honey bran muffins, oatmeal, bannanas will actually constipate her more every dr i have been to said so. Add more leafy greens, less bread apple juice works well. And your right the dr might be able to help her i would ask about maybe seeing if you could get a stool softner for her and see if it helps.
Good luck to you
I need help with daughter's poopy issues...?
I've tried for the last year with my daughter (now 3) to go poopy in the potty. She wears panties all day, and at night, but when it comes poopy time, she refuses to use the potty. It gets to the point where she becomes so constipated and miserable. I've gone to her pediatrician, and she recommended Karo syrup, then Milk of Magnesia. I tried the Karo syrup, and nothing. I refuse to try Milk of Magnesia because I will not give my daughter the trots..lol. I've tried reward systems, books, videos, positive reinforcement. Evrything you can think of, and she won't do it. The household is becoming stressed, especially the hubby, who can't stand to hear her scream and cry. My hubby refuses to have her in diapers until she's four, especially with another baby on the way. I'm stressed because I've tried everything, and I feel like I'm failing, and my husband refuses to help in this department. My 1 1/2 year old is showing more promise than my oldest. What can I do that has helped you guys?
can you try abandoning the potty altogether and just let her use the toilet? My son wouldn't use the potty to poop so I'd let him wear a nappy in the morning (he was pretty regular!) and after he'd pooped I'd let him wear pants. He just started pooing on the toilet then when he was a bit older. I bought him a 'big boy' stool so he could step up and to wash his hands with. If your hubby is refusing to be involved then it's not HIS decision about her still being in nappies and the stressing out won't help anyone. Just pull back a bit, she may feel pressured by the whole situation, let her poop in the nappy for now and just pee in the potty or like I said try her on the 'big' toilet. I'm sure it will all work out soon enough - it's a totally normal situation!
2 1/2 yr old won't poopy in potty?
We started seriously potty training my daughter a while ago and she is doing awesome with the pee pee department. She uses the potty almost every time and even rarely wakes up from nap or bedtime wet though I still put a diaper on her for those times just in case. However she simply won't go poopy in the potty. I've put the poopy in the potty after shes gone in her panties and told her that's where it goes. I've been supportive and I've been tough on her. she just won't do it and she gives no indication she has to go when she needs to go poopy, only peepee. I don't understand. how can I get her to see that it's not just peepee that goes in the potty it's poopy too?
If your daughter is staying dry during the majority of nap times and bed times then stick with the panties. Switching back and forth can cause confusion. Also, not going poopy is quite common for guyren at this age.

Since you are around your guyren all day, try and take one day where she has only a t shirt and panties on. Have her sit on the potty every hour consistently. If you have to put a small potty in the room where you let them watch tv or movies to keep her entertained and also where she is not feeling like she is being left out or deprived of play time.
WHY IS MY 5 YEAR OLD STILL POOPING ON HERSELF??!!!?
Okay here is the story my daughter will tell me if she needs to tinkle but she will not let me know anything and she haves to go # 2
see what she dose is poops on herself and im so sick of washing her dirty poopy panties. I justdon'tt get it. i need help and some major advice. I don't know what else to do.
She might not even know why she does it. Try the reward system. If she goes in the toilet she gets something small (like a cool sticker), if she can go without pooping her pants for a certain amount of time (say a week) she gets to do something special (go eat, park, etc). You might consider talking to her doctor but when it comes to something not physically wrong they might not be any help. Just keep encouraging her and don't give up.
3 yr old twin girls?
heres the story one of my girls is completely potty trained the other wears a pull-up at night and poo's in her panty's during the day, now she has had a hard time poo'n sence she was a baby. am i doing something wrong or do u think it might be from the hard poo's she has.. really its just mushy stuff, (tmi) please help i am tired of poopy panties..lol
I used to let my guy pick out the underwear and when he pooped I would point out how he got Spiderman dirty and that we would have to change to the white plain underwear. He would want to wear his cool underwear so he made sure to go to the toliet.
5 year old pooped in her pants 3 times?
my 5 year old ally has been watching me potty train my two year old twins lilly and lilac... she has seen the sticker chart and the rewards they get when they poop in the potty and she has also seen the consequences for when they don't.... ally has said she wished she was little like the twins in the past but last week i seen her sitting in the corner and i smelled something i asked her if she was gassy and she said no i gotta go poop but i went in there after about 7 minutes and she pooped in her panties... just 3 days ago her teacher called and i had to go pick ally up because she had soiled and Poopy panties and just about an hour ago she repeated the act from last week... how do i explain to her not to poo in her pants and do you think it has anything to do with the twins being potty trained? please help
I am having the same problem with my 5 year old and want to tell you to make sure to check with your pediatrician. There is a definite medical condition that may cause this that could stem from your guy being constipated and lead to leakage of stool that is involuntary! I know when my daughter was in preschool and this summer with camps, I dont think she was kept properly hydrated thru the day (they never gave them enough to drink at school and all the guys were always thirsty). My daughter had bouts of constipation and that was the root of our problem. I read many "resolved" questions on here on this subject where people were blaming the guyren for being lazy or doing it intentionally and one even actually told a poster her guy had a mental health disorder! I feel sorry for those guys because Im sure some of them had this condition. As frustrating as it is, please give her the benefit of the doubt until you rule out a medical problem. I think it is humiliating enough for the already potty trained guys to experience this and when parents and teachers punish them and make them feel bad for something they cant control-it just makes the situation worse. Id rather go thru tons of underwear than ruin my daughter's self esteem by getting mad at her every time "accidents" happen. Im lucky my pediatrician was insightful enough to pick up on this for us-not all of them are.
Best of luck

Lisa
Poop in the potty help...need suggestions!?
My daughter is almost 3 years old (in April) and I have had the hardest time potty training her. We have finally done away with pull ups, even at night. She will even pitch a fit if you try to put one on her, (she had a stomach virus) She tee tee's really good in the potty, with a few accidents here and there, especially if she is distracted by playing or watching TV. But I CAN NOT get her to poop in the potty! She will sit on the toliet and "try" but then she pops up and says "I not poo poo". 5 minutes later, I'm changing poopy panties. I have tried everything that I can think of. Even promising toys and taking toys away! I just don't know what else to do. At times I wonder if she even feels that she has to go. Any suggestions or tips will be greatly appreciated! :) Thank You
Don't be changing the poopy pants so soon after she poops them. Leave her for ten minutes so she can learn how uncomfortable it is to have to play around and sit in poopy pants (have a plastic sheet ready and waiting for her to sit on).
What can I do to get her to tell me this?
I'm potty training my almost 3 year old. She has the peeing part down, but not the poo part. Well, when she poos, she doesn't even give us a hint that she's doing it. She's just going in her pants. She doesn't tell me she's going and when I found out she was going, I was ready to escort her to the potty and she was really reluctant and was yelling she didn't want to be a big girl?? It was out of the ordinary a bit.

But I don't know how to get her to poo on the potty, and I am tired of cleaning out poopy panties. She'll be 3 in October, and I just want to be done with this. I feel that the battle's half over, since she doesn't have pee accidents, it's just poo. We've been doing this for about 2 months now.
Try giving her like a potty training chart and when she goes she can put a sticker of her favorite character on the chart. And why are you posting this in adolescent?
